At Bentwood Studio, our father-and-son team offer the best woodworking studio and custom designed woodworking classes in Putnam County, NY, Westchester County, NY, Fairfield County, CT and the tri-state area. We specialize in private and small group woodworking workshops for adults, children and teens. Using the finest local hardwoods and tools, our family of craftsmen will guide both men and women, beginners and experts alike, to create unique hand-crafted woodworks that last a life-time. From tables, chairs, cabinetry, bowl turning and jar spoon-making, you can master the skills and equipment needed to build your own furniture at your own pace.

Our philosophy is simple…to offer hands-on woodworking in the time-honored traditional way. We promote woodworking as a great physical and recreational hobby, and help develop skills that will lead to more advanced hands-on woodworking experiences.

Team

Bentwood Studio is built on a father and son’s relationship and passion for woodworking. These two master woodworking craftsman started this family-owned business to share their love of creating unique projects with wood that last a lifetime. The father and son team are highly skilled artisans that bring years of teaching experience to their students.

Ernest Palmieri

Ernie Palmieri is a master craftsman with over 35 years of experience as a professional woodworker, cabinetmaker, furniture maker and wood turner. During those years, he passed on his devotion to woodworking by teaching his craft to many students, including his son. He earned his master’s degree at Lehman College located in Bronx, New York. He is also a member of the American Craft Council and is a licensed contractor in Putnam County, NY.

Glenn Palmieri

Glenn Palmieri studied woodworking as an apprentice at the Chicago Bauhaus Academy, where he learned solid wood-building utilizing traditional joinery, and led the instruction of adult education classes. He’s worked on numerous award-winning projects. He was honored to have built the Papal Throne and Lectern for the 2008 Papal Youth Rally in Yonkers, NY, as well as the furnishings for the Ground Zero Mass. Glenn is a member of the American Craft Council, The Furniture Society, Arts on the Lake and The Putnam Arts Council.
